Barbastro is the capital of the Somontano region, a city with an ideal commercial vocation and perfect for strolling, wandering around and discovering a unique environment. Somontano means "at the foot of the mountain" and refers to our location at the foot of the Aragonese Pyrenees. There are many excursions to be enjoyed nearby; the medieval village of Alquézar, the Sierra and Canyons of Guara Natural Park, the Somontano Wine Route, the River Vero Cultural Park with its vestiges of millenary rock art and the Torreciudad sanctuary to name just a few.
Also within easy reach is the medieval village of Aínsa, the main square of Graus, the Buddhist shrine of Panillo, the cathedral of Roda de Isábena and the valley of Benasque.
Barbastro is the ideal place to take a break, being located halfway between the capitals of Huesca and Lleida and also en-route between Madrid and the Baqueira Beret ski station. Or why not spend a few days disconnecting in an unforgettable natural and cultural environment?
